The Game Nobody Will Remember
The final score was blue 84 and red 63. That's all I can remember about
game 15.
It seems like it was such a long time ago when points didn't matter and fun was the name of the game. Well as the years have passed it has gotten all of our competitive juices fired up again. When we step on that field we are ready to die in battle for football honor. We dive for balls, run like the wind and pray that the man we were suppose to cover drops the ball. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day who won or lost (unless you are talking to me about the HBL Bowl) because we will be ready to battle again the following week. With only one game left in the season, we must all make sure that all the kinks are worked out, all the muscles are stretched and that you hold on to all your superstitions that have held true until this day (Steve wash your jersey!). At the end of the day there is only one winner and one loser (unless you're Eric, who was the rotator). So if you won, don't be a sore winner. Bask in the glory of the limelight, but not in front of the other team. And if you lost, don't be a sore loser (unless it's the HBL Bowl, dammit!). Take the loss home and learn from it, don't make the same mistake the following week (Donnie, no more going to DC and getting lap dances til 2am...and no she doesn't like you, they treat all their customers that way). I can't even tell you who was on whose team. I can't tell you what jersey I wore. Does it even matter? I know I have my good days and bad days just like everyone else. So if I won great, if I lost, then I apologize to my teammates, because I probably played quarterback. With or without jerseys my teammates are every person on the field. "Camraderie with all the friends" as Aaron Goodmiller is known to say, is the key. The friendships that have been formed do not die when Eric puts on blue and Steve puts on red...uh, I mean when Eric puts on blue and Rich puts on Red. We fight this morning and we drink this night. As another seasons comes to a close I would like to congratulate everyone on their own personal efforts in making this a great season. As we build the HBL tradition, lets not forget the bonds that have been forged on the gridiron. Lets use these as building blocks to make the HBL larger than we have already made it. Again, I think Blue beat Red, but in the end does it really matter? - Written by Manny Mendoza Blue Wins Blue 84 - Red 63

Number for the Game: 3Donnie's 3 sacks pushed the sack record from 11 in a year to 14. And there is still one game left. Did You Notice? There are no stats below. Only a couple of people sent me their stats, so I left them out of the recap. Though the people who sent me thier's do count towards their Stats for the year.
Quote of the Game:MANNY: "You gonna take out your ten-yarder and
measure it?" Play of the Game:Aaron: A pass to him in the back of the endzone looked to sail way over his head, when he reached way up and pulled it down for a Touchdown. Earl: He made a great catch and then made Steve miss on a Jedi move, then avoided Manny and JP and nearly scored, but was tagged by Cesar just outside of the endzone.
