HBL Is Back, And Better Than Ever.

HBL Season 6 is here and so are the new orange jerseys. With new jerseys on, Orange began with the football and decided to make a statement. And on only the 4th play of the game, Manny hit JP for a 35 yard touchdown. Blue, however, was unfazed by the quick drive. With Eric in at QB, he methodically drove Blue down the field and ended the drive with a 1 yard touchdown pass to Rich, tying the game up at 7. With the first two drives ending in touchdowns, the defenses for both teams stepped it up. 3 plays into Orange's next drive, Eric picked off an errant Manny pass. Orange then stopped Blues next drive on downs at their own 4 yard line. JP then took over at QB for Orange and two plays later, Cesar pulled in his first interception of the year. Again Blue drive deep into Orange territory and again they turn the ball over on downs. Manny took back over at QB and was able to work a long drive and get the ball into Blue territory, but for the third time in a row, it ended in an Interception as Rich pulled in a Manny pass. Blue then drive quickly down the field and Eric hit Cesar in the endzone for a yard yard touchdown and the lead. Blue 14 - Orange 7

With Manny still at QB, Orange worked their way down the field, but again was unable to punch it in, turning the ball over on downs close to a touchdown. Blue's offense lasted only a few plays as Manny got the ball back for Orange with an interception of his own. JP took over at QB again and again in 2 plays Cesar intercepted a JP pass. Several plays after the interception, Newbie Nick pulled in his first HBL interception. And a couple of plays after that, pulled in his first HBL touchdown on a 2 yard pass from JP. With the half just seconds away, Blue simply ran out the clock with a play that included 5 laterals. Blue 14 - Orange 14

Blue started out with the ball in the second half and made a statement of it's own.  They marched right down the field and scored on a 2 yard pass from Eric to Donnie.  With Manny back at QB for Orange he was only able to muster a couple of plays before Eric pulled in his second interceptions of the game and almost returned it for a touchdown.  Orange's defense held though and stopped Blue on 4 straight plays.  With the ball back, Manny slowly drive his team down the field.  But deep in Blue territory, Rich pulled in his second interception as well.  Cesar took over at QB for Blue and drive right down the field, hitting Eric on a 10 yard out play for a touchdown to finish the drive off.  Eric wasn't finished though. As JP stepped back in at QB for Orange, Eric pulled in his third interception of the game on the first play.  And one play after that, Cesar scrambled for 20 yards and a touchdown. Blue 35 - Orange 14

With the final outcome still in doubt, JP kept his cool and stayed in at QB.  And after a few plays he hit Demetrius streaking down the middle for a 40 yard touchdown.  Orange's celebration didn't last too long as Cesar marched Blue right back down the field and hit Rich on for a 15 yard touchdown.  Defenses stepped back up as a drive by JP ended with Rich's third interception of the game and one play later Aaron picked off a pass by Eric to give Orange the ball back.  With Nick at QB for Orange, they went 4 and out but got the ball back when Blue, lead by Eric, went 4 and out as well.  More interceptions changed hands as well as Ric picked off a pass from Manny, then Daniel picked off a pass from Eric and Steve picked off a pass from Aaron. Blue then put the game away for good when Cesar hit Steve for a 5 yard touchdown.  Then added to that capper when Cesar made his third interception of the game and returned it for a touchdown with just second left to play.  Orange tried to make it look close with a lateral play that ended when the ball fell harmlessly to the ground. Blue 56 - Orange 21
